Why choose me

I’ve always been interested in real estate and the built environment, so I knew I wanted to specialise in property law very early on in my career.

I help clients with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, from buying and selling business property to occupational arrangements and leases, acting for commercial landlords and tenants across a range of sectors.

My specialisms include leading high-value acquisitions, re-financing, disposals and management of multi-let retail parks, warehousing and logistics schemes for landlord investment clients. I also enjoy acting for independent business owners and start-ups on all types of commercial properties, with a particular interest in historic buildings and heritage sites.

I enjoy the fast pace of the real estate sector and get immense satisfaction each time I complete a deal for a client. I take great pleasure in seeing my clients move into their business premises – I love to walk down the street and spot the businesses I helped to open in that location!

As a solicitor, I’m reliable, consistent and approachable. Naturally understanding and compassionate, I take the time to get to know my clients closely to understand their individual needs and like to build relationships over time, but I’m also commercially minded and aim to get the deal done as quickly and efficiently as possible for them.

In my spare time, I volunteer as a charity trustee for Originalprojects;, an artist-led organisation in Great Yarmouth, which works with local contemporary artists and communities to co-create cultural experiences.

I love going to see live music at concerts and festivals, keeping fit, enjoying the Norfolk coast and spending time with family. As someone of mixed Jamaican and British heritage, I’m also passionate about discovering and promoting Black British history.

Questions my clients ask me

This depends on whether your letting agreement has security of tenure giving you the automatic right to a renewal lease at term end. I can review your letting agreement and advise in further detail.

I can assist with reviewing the terms of your existing letting arrangement and will set out your options and next steps, which may include negotiating with the occupier for an early exit.

Absolutely, I have access to Land Registry records and can search these for you to ascertain who currently owns the land or property, then assist you with the acquisition of it.

I was extremely grateful for the support, professionalism and service provided by Cara when she handled a recent transaction. I had no experience with regards the sale of a commercial unit and Cara’s knowledge was invaluable. She provided clear and easy to understand guidance which resulted in a positive conclusion. At all times her communications were clear and prompt and I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

I was introduced to Cara via my mortgage advisor when I was doing a commercial property purchase. Throughout the entire transaction, Cara was exceptional. Despite having a tight deadline, she handled it with ease and professionalism.

Cara maintained constant communication, keeping me informed about every challenge and our progress. I am incredibly grateful for her assistance and would highly recommend her to anyone. I eagerly anticipate our next venture and look forward to working with her again in the near future.
