Why choose me
I have been a solicitor for over 30 years and work with the Child and Parent Law team, representing parents, grandparents and members of the extended family ( often referred to as kinship carers ) in court proceedings. I have a wide variety of clients including parents, grandparents and children. As an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel, I also act for children, via their Guardians in care and other children proceedings.
I advise clients in relation to Care proceedings and PLO meetings , section 20 agreements, Special Guardianship orders (SGO’s) and adoption and other issues relating to children. I also represent clients in relation to Deprivation of Liberty orders known as DoLs. Many of my clients qualify for legal aid to fund their cases.
In each case, I provide positive and practical advice throughout the case and represent clients in court, from magistrates courts, county court and high court where necessary. I am a trustee of Kinship Carers UK and my membership of the Association of Children lawyers means that I can keep up to date with recent case law and ideas.
After a busy day at the office, I like to unwind by playing with the Ledbury Community Brass Band – come and see us if you’re in the area!

Questions my clients ask me
The time for a case to be resolved can vary – it depends on how cooperative each person is within the negotiations, and what your lawyers recommend.
Not always. I’ll act as your spokesperson, and you may only have to give evidence at a final hearing.
